Bespoke Characters

Sun Jester have extensive experience of first and third person costumed interpretation for a variety of time periods. We can provide generic characters for a chosen date, or research site-specific characters.

We can create characters for almost any occasion, be it a one-off performance, or a series of on-going events.

Some of our previous projects include:

  • A two year project for the National Trust to develop a programme of live interpretation at Cliveden, representing the house guests of Lord and Lady Astor in the 1930s. In addition to performance, Sun Jester’s role included recruiting, training and empowering a newly formed group of volunteers to provide live interpretation for visitors at Cliveden house and gardens.
  • Since 2007 we have provided medical role-play patients/casualties for training purposes to The Royal College of GP’s, the London Deanery, the Red Cross, the Fire Brigade and other emergency services.
  • For the Natural History Museum we created the gallery character of a zoo keeper with Zaki, the lion cub puppet, for visiting families.
  • To portray Georgian house staff for PM House and Gallery, Ealing.
